Voyage. Arrival. Reunification. Millions of Dead People. Vaison.

Budgerock France-Morocco-Trip-2014 got off on the right foot, thanks to the leadership of Le General :
Le General in Command at Airport

Le General devotee, drinker of Kool-Aid:

Travel was via Icelandair.  Iceland was indeed frigid, but we were warmly welcomed:

In Paris, full re-unification was achieved!

After a very fine dinner with Asha's friend Barrett and his parents, we retired to our excellent quarters (thanks Novotell Les Halles!) to rest for the next morning's assault.

Le General and the troops slept well and, after a SUMPTUOUS breakfast (thanks again Novotell Les Halles!) we mounted a full frontal attack at the Catacombs.  Bones, bones, bones!  Wow.  There are millions of dead people beneath Paris . . . . and, yes, it made an "impression."

After the creepshow, we walked back to the hotel via the Luxenburg Gardens and the original megachurch, Notre Dame:

Baggage was claimed, water bottles were filled, and we set out for the TGV!

Seats found, luggage stowed, and we sped south toward our next destination at 180 mph. . . Vaison!

Arrived Avignon right on schedule.  Car rented, sun beginning to set . . . . it was almost like coming . . . home . . . .

The house looks and smells great (thanks Joan and Drew!) and now we are encamped at home base with nary a single casualty (but for the handle on Asha's suitcase thanks to the powerful jaws of the quick-closing Metro doors).

     Stay tuned!
