It was 15.2 degrees F this morning (that's minus-10 degrees C). That's pretty cold for the south of France.
Folks around here are not used to such cold weather. But it makes for good conversation around town. Ed has been able to structure many rudimentary conversations around the subject of the cold weather with shopkeepers, other parents at the school, etc. So it has been good in that sense.
On Wednesday mornings before afternoon swimming lessons (which are indoors and unaffected by the weather) Ford usually goes to the town library. It's about a half-mile walk from home. Ford leaves about 9:45 so he can be there when it opens at 10:00. Then he stays and reads books for a couple of hours. After that, he walks home at 12:00 when it closes for lunch. Yesterday Ford lost track of time and got stuck in the library past the noon closing hour. Fortunately the librarian was still there and happened to see him before he got locked in for good.
You should see Averil speak French. In this phone call (very long, don't feel bad if you don't want to watch the whole thing) she is having a conversation with the next door neighbor about a disputed wall he is planning to build between the two houses. (Note her very effective use of hand gestures to punctuate her points):

This is the brochure for the movie theater. Does anything look good this month? "Take Shelter" maybe? The movie only plays for one week, so you have to be quick!
